George doing his favorite thing... Actor George Clooney chases a loose ball during a pick-up basketball game in Gloucester, Mass. Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, during a break in the shooting of the movie, "The Perfect Storm."
Here is a funny story from a fellow GC fan in Massachusetts
(pictures and radio station link below):
Aside from doing the press conference, George Clooney has not been doing interviews or dealing with the media at all here in Massachusetts.
This is why this story is so much fun to tell to all of you.
KISS 108 is a local radio station and, like most radio stations, they have a morning show crew. The morning show will pretty much stop at nothing
to get a laugh and to keep their audience entertained. They do a really good job and
today was better than usual.
KISS 108 sent Randy, the guy that gets picked to do all the moronic jobs, to Gloucester to find George Clooney. The thing is that Randy was dressed
up as the 1960s Robin. He was going all over Gloucester asking people if they had
seen Batman or where he could find Batman. He kept telling the security guard at the front gate of the set that he REALLY needed to talk with Batman
and that Commissioner Gordon said it would be ok for him to be let in. The security
guard wasn't budging but luckily for Randy and every George Clooney fan, a marina man came by and gave Randy a ride to George's trailer.
George was out at sea filming scenes for The Perfect Storm so Randy had to wait awhile. George came back to his trailer around 9am and was really
shocked to see Randy dressed like Robin. He agreed to do an interview and was really
nice about the whole thing, especially considering that he didn't want to deal with
the media while in Gloucester. He had a really great sense of humor about it and was giving jokes back and forth with Matty, the leader of the
morning crew.
It was really funny and wonderful to hear George on the radio while I was at work.

The blurb underneath the picture says that George is sporting a beard for his part in The Perfect Storm but then went onto say George's next role is reported to be Dave Starsky from Starsky and Hutch which we know George has dismissed as a rumour!
